PERSONNEL PROCUREMENT
Ensuring that only best quality & fully experienced
& trained personnel are employed. Although employment costs are higher
than sector averages, returns such as increased productivity, quality
workmanship, reductions in remedials, safer working environments, etc.
invariably outweigh these costs & continue to allow competitive contract
pricing.
METHODOLOGY
Prior to commencement of new contracts, whether
acting as Principal Contractor, Planning Supervisor or Sub-contractor,
a General Contract Safety and Quality Plan is formulated in conjunction
with the client Pre-Tender H&S Plan. The document details all aspects
of site set-up, client requirements, safety priorities, access & ingress,
etc. A process of consultation is employed both in the design & formulation
of this document between management & other company professionals.
The document is then used at the site pre-start meeting for reviewing
with the construction team. Any alterations required are then written
into an amended version & returned for referral. The document is then
continually monitored & updated.
SUPERVISION
All sites are continually monitored for progress
& quality. Each site will be overseen full time by an experienced site
manager / site foreman. Each site will typically receive per week:
- 2 Visits from Production Director
- 2 Visits from Contracts Manager
- 2 Visits from Project Manager
- 2 Visits from Safety Officer
- Engineers as required (if not full time)
ORDER PROCESSING
All ordering is procured via the company offices
& not the site. In this way, materials, plant & all other build requirements
are continually monitored for quality & adherence to specification, (including
procurement of relevant Product Conformity Certification) & ensure accurate
timing & quantities for deliveries, etc.
ONGOING TRAINING
As M V Kelly Ltd employ a full time Safety & Training
Officer, all site operatives are supervised for adherence to company &
client policies. Training is given on an ongoing basis. High standards
are carefully verified & maintained for both site staff & company professionals
via ongoing development & education.
CSCS
M V Kelly Ltd operate a policy of ensuring that
100% of the workforce is CSCS trained & certified
CHAS
M V Kelly Ltd is CHAS approved. CHAS is the Contractors’
Health & Safety Assessment Scheme. CHAS is available for any public sector
organisation to use in their pre-qualification process for contractor
application for approved/select list or short-listing.
